Ash Kaboom Playground Project

It was the hottest day in July 2017, but with the help of volunteers and some grant funding from national nonprofit KaBOOM and the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, we worked to rebuild and reopen the Roosevelt and Ruth Memorial Park Playground.

A BIG thank you to Brunswick County Sheriff
John Ingram for serving as Honorary Chair of the Playground project, as well as to our elected officials: Brunswick County Commissioner (Distr. 4) Mike Forte, NC Rep. Frank Iler, along with School Board Member, Ellen Milligan for your support!

Many thanks to the Ash community, families, friends, neighbors, churches, local businesses and the NC Community Foundation.

Lastly, we pay homage to those who have gone before us, and who paved the way - and especially to the Brunswick County couple (Roosevelt and Ruth Marlow) who sacrificed and gave back so that we could stand here today. The book of Proverbs encourages us to leave an inheritance for our children’s children. They did just that! With so great an inheritance, we must do no less than our best!!
